Ep 55: Mela (That’s it!)

Episode 54 of Khandaan: A Bollywood Podcast is takes us back to regular programming with 2000’s (!) MELA starring Aamir Khan, Twinkle Khanna, Faisal Khan, and the regular acting troupe of director Dharmesh Darshan. This megaflop from the turn of the century is something of a niche classic featuring tropes we haven’t seen in A-list Bollywood since the 1980s. A fitting welcome to our brand new, plague-ridden century.

In Thai, the word for the number five is pronounced HA, and this movie is full on LOL when it is not WTF, so we invited one of our top friends, Pitu Sultan, to partake in our episode 55. You can also find Pitu on Instagram @pitusultan or catch her very 555 show KAPOW! WITH PITU on YouTube.

The Main Review: MELA of our lives, featuring heaving bosoms, armpit panties, Durga hai meri maa, and loads of other drama.

We were gonna discuss more stuff but once this train got going, we realized it was an express train and would not stop at any other stations for the duration, so that was that. Watch out for our next Corona Cast for the other good stuff.
