Hummingbird Trailer – Statham and the power of a Combover

Maybe it’s the legacy of the Transporter movies or the realm of B-grade actioners they roam in but Jason Statham movies just dont get the respect they deserve. Apart from some serious action set pieces, he really seeks out exciting film makers to work with, trying to do something different in every movie, even though there is a point where he will drive a call and kick ass whilst wearing a suit. But hey, if it can work for Bond, why not for the Statham.

This time he teams up with Steven Knight, making his debut as a director after writing Eastern Promises and Dirty Pretty Things as like those 2 movies, Hummingbird seems to have it’s feet planted in London’s seedy underbelly.

Here is the new Trailer for Hummingbird.

Starring Jason Statham (Parker, Safe, Killer Elite, The Expendables, Crank, Bank Job, Transporter), with BAFTA award winner Vicky McClure, Agata Buzek and Benedict Wong (Prometheus), Hummingbird marks the directorial debut of Oscar® nominated screenwriter Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things), from his own original screenplay.

Living homeless after going on the run from a military court-martial, Joey Jones (Statham) is a damaged ex-special forces soldier trapped in London’s criminal underworld. But when opportunity enables him to assume another man’s identity, he is transformed into an avenging angel.

A brutal, and yet surprisingly tender, thriller, Hummingbird is released in cinemas on 17th May 2013 from Lionsgate UK.
