The first official trailer for Marvel’s Thor has just been released. Adapted from the long runing comic book based on the Norse God of Thunder and Ligthning, the movie releasing this summer is directed by Keneth Brannag and stars Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman. Check out the trailer after the jump!
Altough Thor made his first appearance back in 1962, I have to admit not being entirely aware of Thor storyline. I’ll just accept everything laid out in the trailer and especially since a lot of the movie seems to be tied in with Iron man 2 and the Avengers movie, I dont think I’ll be going in completely blind.
When director Kenneth Brannag was announced a lot of people were sceptical since he is known for more serious and dramatic work but after watching this trailer we can admit that he handles the action sequences pretty well.
The Asgardian (Home of the Norse Gods)Â shots look really impressive to and I wonder how this CGI world with stack up with OA the home planet for the Green Lanterns which releases only a month later. With Captain America lined up for a June release, the comic book fan will surely be satisfied in 2011.
Chris Hemsworth only had a 5 minute role in JJ Abram’s Star Trek but it looks like he’s worked hard to impress the fans (his biceps are almost as big as mine ;-))
And Natalie Portman can do no wrong in our book!
