Emmy 2010: Winners and Nominees (Losers)

According to Wikipedia (obviously the most reliable of sources) The name “Emmy” was chosen as a feminization of “immy”, a nickname used for the image orthicon tubes that were common in early television cameras. In any case this yearly award for excellence in the medium of TV was presented last night in LA and here is a full list of winners and nominees. See the list after the jump!

Maybe not all of our favorites won but I think this year’s picks were overall pretty sound, giving the Emmy’s more respectability in my eyes than the banal choices of the yearly Oscars. Glad to see The Daily Show and Modern Family win some of the bigger awards and being a huge Jane Lynch fan, I’m glad she got recognized. I know some cynics attribute her win to other reasons (Jane Lynch had a very public wedding recently) but since Glee didn’t win out for the 14 awards they were nominated, I am glad she got some props.
