Trailer Round Up

A Breakdown of some of the latest trailers and hottest trailers that stand out and got the Upodcast team excited.

The Other Guys

The amazing team of Adam Mckay and Will Ferrel is finally getting back after delivering comedic gems Anchorman, the Ron Burgundy story and Talladega Nights the Ballad of Ricky Bobby. This time though they have an amazing star cast including Samuel L Jackson, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Mark “say hi to your mother for me ” Wahlberg. It seems to be a revision of 80’s cop movies and with the team involved you can always expect many quotable lines and hysteric bounds of laughter.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

I’m big fan of this little known comic (little known as in the sense that’ it’s not Batman) of which the final chapter hasn’t released yet. I know Michael Cera gets a lot of hate for playing the same guy in every movie, but hey I like the guy he’s playing so I have no problems with it. Helmed by Edgar Wright after Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, interlaced with the crazy mélange of the comic and again an amazing collective of actors. If the marketing campaign can get the audience over their comic book adaptation fatigue, this could be really good!

Four Lions

Four bumbling terrorist plot an attack and things go horribly funny in this Chris Morris (known in the UK for Brass Eye a satirical news show in the nineties) directed movie. I know this is enough for my Upodcast co- host Martin to start salivating and with the Infidel another UK movie I am looking forward to.

Knight and Day

Tom Cruise has not been having the best of years lately and after seeing the last South Park episode it seems his past still catches up with him. Cameron Diaz was last seen in the Richard Kelly’s The Box which came and went without too many notices.

I guess I can still look forward to these actors’ work without the baggage of their personal lives, and this James Mangold direct summer action flick looks fun. Previously called Wichita this is now set for June 25th release.

Dinner for Schmucks

Remake of the French classic Diner des Cons, I can’t imagine this being better than the original but with Steve Carrel and Paul Rudd( Role Models, I love you Man, The Ten, Knocked up and all kinds of awesomeness) starring, there will definitely be enough for a few chuckles. Realest date 23rd July

Grown ups

Starring a whole host of Comedians like Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Steve Buscemi this might be the comedic counterpart to The Expendables releasing this summer. The story is according to imdb: “After their high school basketball coach passes away, five good friends and former teammates reunite for a Fourth of July holiday weekend.” I just hope this isn’t another Couples Retreat where the only reason the audience is invited is to see actors on screen have fun,

Salt

Angelina Jolie in an action spy Thriller. I do not need to say more. All hail to Queen Jolie!

Ong Bak 3

The final part in the Ong Bak saga, but I’m confused if I should count the first movie as part of a trilogy or not.

In any case this picks up from the cliffhanger Tony Jaa left us at. I’m just glad the movie is seeing the light of day as rumors where that Tony Jaa had gone all Colonel Kurtz on us. More elbow crunching action as we are used to by now the last proper action star we have.
