Box Office

Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice Review

We bring out the big guns for this one. Critically derided but a massive box office hit, where does the Upodcast team stand on Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice which sorta a sequel to Man Of Steel but also a set up for the forthcoming DC Justice League Universe.

Joined by @Bollybrit and @9e3k we keep it low on spoilers (until minute 45) but high on profanity.

During the episode we talk about a deleted scene, if you haven’t seen it yet, here it is:

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Review Upodcast

The first return  to Hobbit country might have not gone as planned for Peter Jackson’s as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was critically derided but still made mint at the box office.

So is second part in this new Middle Earth trilogy any different?

That’s exactly the question we debate with Sujoy Singha (OneKnighStand and BollyPop) after we got a slight headache from watching a 3 hours 3D movie with out any singing and dancing.

Chennai Express Upodcast Interviews

We’ve kept you waiting but finally our Chennai Express Upodcast Episode is finally ready! Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Siddarth Roy were in town promoting their biggest Eid release which has also become the biggest box office earner in the history of Hindi Cinema.

How long it will be able to hold that position is another story with Dhoom 3 and Krish 3 (I refuse to learn how to write the title of this movie) releasing soon.

So being in the unique position of attending the Press Conference, the journalist round table as well as doing a 1-2-1 interview, we had so much content for our listeners, it took us a while to find the right format since none of us are genius editors as the listeners of our shows know too well.

If you want the Video interview head over to HeyUGuys by clicking here.

A History of Adam Sandler movies: Make me angry!

With the release of Grown ups, starring Adam Sandler and many other comedic co-stars (Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, Kevin James). Unfortunately the reviews are pretty terrible and the do dall into the trappings we predicted when reviezing the trailer. But as  I said then I’ll probably end up watching this on a rainy day.

Here is a chart showing the relationship between Adam Sandler playing angry characters and Box Office success of his movies. Check out the full image after the jump! Read More

Gold 4 Macs and the effects of the Global Economic Meltdown

Let’s Agree 2009 kinda sucked!
Since last year, the economy is in shambles which has effected the day to day lives of pretty much for everyone except for the crazies on MTV’s Cribs.

Michael Jackson is no more, the James Cameron Avatar hype has almost died down (with the exception of weekly Box Office updates and if the movies has beaten Titanic or Gone with the Wind) most of the banks have caught their second breath and are running ads on TV like nothing happened in 2009.

( I’m looking at you Barclays…)

But the one thing that has annoyed me the most except Banks trying to be our friends again is the worrying trend of:
People wanting my Gold…

I’m just glad I don’t watch day time TV as you would be bombarded by horrible, cheap looking ads to the point where you start feeling guilty and want to buy gold so you can give it to these companies!
I came across this little mock up video on Geekologie.
Nice tie in to the Ipad launch…

Enjoy!
