Movies you might have missed in 2012 (Bollywood)

London Paris New York

Ali Zafar’s first rom com as a leading man might be forgotten when it comes to the year end but it’s one that has managed to stick with me somehow (probably party as we covered it extensively on Upodcast with interviews by both Ali Zafar and the wonderful Aditi Rao Hydari).

In many ways it turns genre conventions on it’s head and director /writer Anu Menon probably is the main reason for the freshness, add to that a sprightly performance by Aditi Rao Hydari. This is one of those movies that has a much stronger 2nd half and really picks up steam just before the very refreshing climax.  Clearly struggling with a very conservative budget, London Paris New York could have had more potential if the producers had more faith in it, but then again if your previous release was Drona, you can never be too careful.
